The Process of Design.

"if you don't know where you're going, you'll end up someplace else."

                                                                                                                                                                    -Yogi Berra
Success through process.
Providing structure to decision making simplifies the procedure and helps deliver optimum results. Different types of design warrant different methods, but they share one common theme- they all rely heavily on process. There is no ‘right or wrong’ way to approach a project and procedures are adaptable to the task at hand. As your architect, part of our role is to help guide you through this process.

Let's face it- taking on a renovation to your home can feel overwhelming.

You may have an idea of what you want the final design to look like but haven't any idea how to get started.  Or, having the ability to visualize space isn't your thing, but you know there has to be a way to make the changes you need. Typically there are thousands of decisions to be made on any project and the entire process can seem daunting. Each decision leads to another and often decisions made only lead to more questions. And the outcome is something you will have to live with (or in) for some time.  After all the dust settles, it’s your home and it has to be right, but you have legitimate questions-

How will this affect my resale value?

Can I build what I want?

Will the final cost fit my budget?

When it’s done, will I love it?

The 6 steps below provide a typical process map for the ride between where you are and where you want to be.
