Step 5- Selection of a General Contractor

Selecting who will build it

Once the drawings and specifications are complete, a contractor needs to be awarded before construction can begin.  You may elect to interview general contractors or bring them on earlier to help strategize the work or provide preliminary pricing.  If you elect to send the project out for a competitive bid, we will work on your behalf to prepare bid documents and issue them to an agreed upon list of general contractors.  Selection of a general contractor is often not solely based on price.  The general contractor you select should be someone you can see yourself working with over an extended period of time. It’s important to enter into contract with someone that has the right experience for your project and someone you trust will be working with your best interest in mind.
