The Design process

Step 6- Contract Administration

Getting it done

With completed documentation, a general contractor on board and the required permits in hand, construction can finally begin.  During this phase we are on hand to answer questions, deal with clarifications and administer revisions if necessary.  Our role during this phase is also to protect your interests and to maintain the integrity of the design.  We will review contractor invoices, overall costs and scheduling. Substantial completion typically occurs when you, the owner, receive a ‘certificate of occupancy’ from the local governing entity. Final completion of the project will typically go beyond receiving a CO. We will sign off on the final punch list and the contractor’s final payment application on your behalf.

-and life goes back to normal.
